WHAT A YEAR.
With COVID-19 contagion concerns and the need to social distance, many were calling for a cancellation of Halloween in 2020. I am firm in my support for the need for safety, I also believe that some seasonal spirit is just what we need. If we can bring a smile to a child’s face when they drive by the house during the month of October, or send a chill down a spine of those in the area, helping them remember the spirit of the season… Then we have done something scary good this difficult year.

THIS YEAR’S HAUNT

This year, I moved away from the “TOXIC SPILL” theme and into a more traditional cemetery approach. Hey, I can always go back to it if I feel like it. The continued addition of some new higher quality props and additional touches throughout made for a powerful overall impression in the daytime and at night.

OTHER HALLOWEEN PROJECTS

With COVID-19 looming large, I thought it would be cool to extend the haunt to the virtual space this year with some special digital projects for the season.

DAILY SOCIAL HORRORS
I did an October Halloween takeover on my social media accounts, with daily horrific-artistic creations made by yours truly. The discipline of creating a new horror tribute image each day is an absolute joy and a great way for me to make sure that every day of October receives its own little celebration. I’m starting from a blank, black screen with each of these, so that daily discipline of creating something from scratch, piece-by-piece, is awesome as well!
SACRIFICE2020.COM
Halloween night is on a Saturday in 2020. ANNNND, it’s a full moon. Jeez. How can we let THAT go unnoticed. Thinking of that made my mind jump to black-robed horror film full moon rites of sacrifice. I thought it would be really funny to lampoon our influencer “life hack” culture while paying homage to those 60s satanic fright films I grew up shuddering to. I give you “SACRIFICE2020.COM.”
It’s a really cool multimedia experience, so you have to see it live!
