HALLOWEEN 2014

A MODEST BEGINNING.

We had just moved to Austin, Texas. It was a great choice and we were thrilled to be in ATX. We purchased a house in the suburb of Cedar Park and finally had a yard that was great for haunting. This really isn’t much of a start, but I think it’s great to share it to show that every yard has a year one.

THE HAUNT

I started with a few poorly executed gravestones, a few lights, webs and torches. Hey… You have to start somewhere.

OUR DAUGHTER’S COSTUME

TERROR NURSE

Logan was inspired by the famous bleeding-eyes nun images from American Horror Story (pictured below). We didn’t want to play with anything so overtly religious, so my wife found a vintage nurse’s uniform and went in that direction. What we forgot about was the symptoms of the then-emerging Zika virus which was striking nurses and included bleeding from the eyes. DOH! The costume turned out well, though. Logan was pleased.
